During a period of prolonged inertia due to illness I was inspired to create a list of local challenges that were conceivably achievable but nonetheless aspirational in their skill, time, logistical or athleticism requirements. The list became an objective and being that I’m situated in the 26’ parallel 26 objectives seemed right. The objectives are grouped as pure adventure challenges or creative challenges and are listed in no reasoned order for your contemplation and my accountability.
WARNING: I HAVE NOT CONSIDERED YOUR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND ACCEPT NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR YOUR ATTEMPTS AT OBJECTIVE 26. FURTHERMORE, I IMPLORE YOU TO CONSIDER YOUR SKILL, FITNESS AND THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES.
Acknowledgement: I pay my respect to the land and the custodians of the Gubbi Gubbi and Kabi Kabi people who have walked upon it and shared it’s stories and bounty throughout history and into the future.

We’ve been attempting the AR ‘teen’ climbs in 26’ South region this June and July. Together with Paul and Billy and during some TOEC training we’ve climbed at Point Glorious, Point Pure and Tinbeerwah on top rope. As new climbers all our interactions with the spaces and fellow climbers have been super instructive and inspiring. Off climbing at Brooyar again today – going to try-out a self belay seen on https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/113927471/tr-solo-with-prusik-tending-pulley under assistance and supervision ready for sneaky sessions on drive-throughs from Barrambah.

Paddled the Mary Valley-Gympie stretch of The Mary with Paul, my son and his mate. Green banks and curious turtles and platypus greeted us at Garapine on the first night. Countless catfish circles seen through the crystal clear water and the gasps of lungfish as we paddled North. An overnight storm on the second night added the element of risk young boys nervously recount later on.
A great paddle and nice to see what it looks like without flood.
